Heather and Jon visit - 3-25
Jackson attacked this first visitors to the apartment! His "sleeping frog" move would have been more sucessful if he had stayed awake to finish it off.
The Hiccups!
Jackson has proven to be a good eater. This does prove to be a problem, because he gets a pretty good bout of the hiccups. They are pretty adorable... so we took a video! You may need to turn up the volume in order to hear them. Beware of mommy's cough at the end!

Homecoming
Compliments of a clean bill of health from Trish's doctor, Emily Sikking, we were allowed to head home on Easter Sunday! Preparations to leave St. John's were immediately undertaken.
Time to put on the going home outfit! Mom picked this one out a month ago.
Going home!
Like a good boy... Jackson feel asleep on the way home.

Jackson Photos from last couple days....
At St. John's there is a charity group that came by and knitted Jackson this little hat and a matching pair of blue booties!
Had to throw some bunny ears on the Easter baby!
Our first family photo!
Baby's first photo after arriving into the world.
Baby's first photo after realising he's entered the world!
Confirmation that the pacifier is going to be mom and dad's best friend. He started sucking 45 mins into his life!
Eye cream time. He handled it like a champ.
Bath time! Not a pleasant event for the little guy.
Hangin out in the baby warmer after his bath. He's also found his thumb.

Getting ready for his first night of sleep. Well... first night of getting up every three hours and eating THEN sleeping.
The True Knot
Immediately after Jackson was removed from his prior home, the doctors all started pointing with excitement at his umbilical cord. Jackson had done a full somersault in the womb and managed to tie his umbilical cord during the pregnancy. I'm not sure just how rare this is... but it seemed rare enough to get all the doctors in the room pretty thrilled to have seen it. Apparently, having a C-section was divine intervention, because a true knot in the umbilical cord can cause severe birthing complications. It can synch so tight during the birth that it doesn't provide the baby with oxygen and blood. Add in the huge head... and things could have been very complicated for the new family. Here's a picture of the "True Knot."

Photo Extravaganza

Thanks again to everyone that has called, sent flowers, visited the hospital or just has kind thoughts for the new family over the last two days. I'd hate to report that everything has gone perfectly... but it's been pretty close. Mommy and baby are both doing excellent. Mommy is up walking around (a little gingerly) and is very happy to me a mom.
Baby Jackson seems to be un-phased about the last couple days events. He's eating and sleeping like a champ! Mom and Dad are very much hoping that he continues this trend of good behavior for the next 20 years.
Grandma Joan (Trish's mom) has been a huge help. She flew in the night before and is providing moral support and coaching for the new parents. She's responsible for getting Jackson to stop crying the first time. Dad couldn't figure it out.
For moral support and coaching, Petesen brought in almost his whole family. Jackson is the first grandkid on the Lambert side BUT is the eighth grandchild on the Cavanagh side! So, Petersen was going to need some extra help! Papa (Pete's Dad) and Nana (Pete's stepmom) have been stealing away as much cuddle time with Jackson as they can before they leave. Jackson rewarded Papa by peeing on him. Just like Daddy taught him!

The New Jersey aunts and uncles have also descended upon the hostipal at the request of the new Daddy. Uncle Chris (Pete's brother), Aunt Kim (Pete's sister) and Uncle Jon (Kim's fiance) have been putting together plans on how to corrupt little Jackson. Alright... Uncle Chris has and Aunt Kim and Uncle Jon are trying to stop it! Approved Lesson One from Uncle Chris... How to Shed a Block!
Things have been pretty easy on Dad. Compliments of Harvey Karp and a "baby class" I'm quickly becoming a fan of a quick diaper change and swaddling. Thanks to all the help from Trish's mom and my family things are pretty easy for now. Tonight will be the first night that Trish and I keep the baby in the room overnight. So... tomorrow may prove to bring a fresh perspective. That's it for now. Momma is looking for some attention. Lots, lots more to come!

Happy Birthday Jackson!!

The wait is over! Jackson Daniel Lambert entered the freezing cold world at 12:39pm today. Weighing in at 8 pounds even and measuring 19.5 inches from stem to stern, he's been doing a pretty good dad impression by sleeping most of the day.

Mommy is recovering well from her surgery and is soundly sleeping herself. We did attempt to text message everyone... do if you haven't seen a picture your wait is over!

My laptop battery is almost dead... many many more pictures tomorrow! Too all the friends, family and co-workers that have called, texted and sent flowers... thank you soooo much! We have been thinking about you all and are extremely excited to show off the little guy!
