Thanks again to everyone that has called, sent flowers, visited the hospital or just has kind thoughts for the new family over the last two days. I'd hate to report that everything has gone perfectly... but it's been pretty close. Mommy and baby are both doing excellent. Mommy is up walking around (a little gingerly) and is very happy to me a mom.
Baby Jackson seems to be un-phased about the last couple days events. He's eating and sleeping like a champ! Mom and Dad are very much hoping that he continues this trend of good behavior for the next 20 years.
Grandma Joan (Trish's mom) has been a huge help. She flew in the night before and is providing moral support and coaching for the new parents. She's responsible for getting Jackson to stop crying the first time. Dad couldn't figure it out.
For moral support and coaching, Petesen brought in almost his whole family. Jackson is the first grandkid on the Lambert side BUT is the eighth grandchild on the Cavanagh side! So, Petersen was going to need some extra help! Papa (Pete's Dad) and Nana (Pete's stepmom) have been stealing away as much cuddle time with Jackson as they can before they leave. Jackson rewarded Papa by peeing on him. Just like Daddy taught him!

The New Jersey aunts and uncles have also descended upon the hostipal at the request of the new Daddy. Uncle Chris (Pete's brother), Aunt Kim (Pete's sister) and Uncle Jon (Kim's fiance) have been putting together plans on how to corrupt little Jackson. Alright... Uncle Chris has and Aunt Kim and Uncle Jon are trying to stop it! Approved Lesson One from Uncle Chris... How to Shed a Block!
Things have been pretty easy on Dad. Compliments of Harvey Karp and a "baby class" I'm quickly becoming a fan of a quick diaper change and swaddling. Thanks to all the help from Trish's mom and my family things are pretty easy for now. Tonight will be the first night that Trish and I keep the baby in the room overnight. So... tomorrow may prove to bring a fresh perspective. That's it for now. Momma is looking for some attention. Lots, lots more to come!
