Jack's Birthday Party - 2 years old!

The family gathered at our place for a low key birthday party for Jack. We had a "choo-choo" theme for our locomotive crazed son. We had an excellent time and Jack even blew out his own candle! I'm going to post the video on Facebook since the blog doesn't seem to upload large videos.

Mommy made the cake! Grandpa noted that the coal car should have been behind the engine.

Jack was excited to see his cake and hang out with Mom.

Jack's cousin's, Phoebe, Sophie and Annie came over to help celebrate.

Lindsey could barely contain her excitement.

Jack's sister Lucy wasn't impressed. She slept almost the entire time.

Time to blow out the candle!

Unfortunately for Dad, the best family photo included him making a joker face. Mommy looks great and that's what matters!

Thanks to the Gurkins for loaning Jack their train table and set! All the kids had fun and Jack hasn't stopped playing with the trains since.

Jack gets some Grandma time.

Lauren brought over her dog Juno to join the party. Jack took the opportunity to pet and feed the dog. Tortilla chips... He feed the dog copious amounts of chips.

Lucy made sure to get some Grandma time as well.

Jack opens his biggest toy. He got some help from the girls.

Jack gets more cake! It was the only way to get the Conductor's hat on him.

Lucy's First Week

Things are still doing great here at the Lambert residence. Lucy is eating everything in sight. She gets some serious hiccups which we're told by her Rx today aren't a big deal. But it is hard to listen to her hiccup for 15 minutes. She had her one week check-up today and that also went great as she has already gained back all her weight.

Jack and Mom have also been doing much better. He seems to get that Lucy is here to stay and continues to be a great helper to Mommy. He is also walking all over the place now that he can't be picked up.

I'm really bummed because I can't seem to get videos to upload on blogspot, so you'll have to check out my Facebook page to see some good Lucy videos. Here are some additional photos of our week!

To start off our second day at the hospital, Trish's dad stopped by to say hello to his 11th grandchild. He was just in time to feed her.

Jack is loving being a big brother! But....

Baby sister didn't enjoy the mess!

Lucy Elizabeth Lambert (1-19-2010)

I figured... if we're going to keep the posts to every 4 months then we'd better have a pretty good reason to update the blog.

On Tuesday, January 19th at 8:33am, Trish, Joan (Trish's Mom) and I watched on as our expert team of doctors and nurses from Swedish Hospital here in Seattle delivered our 7 pound 2 ounce bundle of joy! She measured 18 inches long and was born covered head to toe in natural moisturizer... just like her mommy.

Mommy and baby are doing excellent. Compared to our experience with Jack, this has been a walk in the park... and things went pretty well with Jack! Trish was drinking lattes and putting on Juicy sweats the day after her surgery.

Lucy barely squeaks out when she's hungry... and boy is she ever hungry!

Jack has been taking the transition pretty well, all things considered. Since Mommy can't pick Jack up due to the surgery, Jack has had to find alternate means of transport around the house. Thankfully, YaYa and Grandpa (Trish's parents) taught Jack to walk across the kitchen with the help of some M&M bribery. Why didn't we think of that earlier?

The hospital took a bunch of professional photos. Please feel free to visit the following link and enter the password 0119lucylambert.

Here are some photos of the days events:

Lucy enters the world! She barely makes any noise and is well moisturized!

Grandma Joan (or YaYa if you asked her brother Jack) cuts the umbilical cord.

No longer quiet, Lucy makes sure that Mommy can hear her.

Mommy hears her baby girl!

The oversight committee.

If you're going to be in the operation room, you have to wear a goofy outfit! One size fits all!

Lucy opens her eyes so that she can look at Mommy.

This is why Grandma came along for the ride....

Team Swedish!

I guess Mommy's don't have germs!

This is Mommy 6 hours after the delivery. BIG difference the second time around!

The cutie pie!

Three generations of Cavanagh women!

Start of Day 2! Everyone is doing great.

So great... that it was time for comfy clothes and lattes (and frequent naps)!

Proud Daddy.

Thanks to everyone that has called, texted, emailed or visited. Very special thanks to Trish's parents for watching Jack and our house for three days while we had our little girl. They even left behind enough food for a week! Thanks to NaNa and PaPa for the new stroller! We took Jack out for a spin to today and can't wait to throw Lucy in it as well. Much love to everyone!

More photos and video to come as we figure out sleeping schedules for both kids. Jack has been getting up earlier and earlier each morning (4:30am today) so blogging is being done at night. See ya tomorrow!

The Lambert's New Home

On August 30th, we'll be moving into our very own home!  It's in an area of Seattle called Fremont.  According to the people there, it's the center of the universe.  I guess we'll find out!

Here are some pics of the place.

Street View of the new casa.  The upper level is a rental unit.

Front door and front of house. The weird blue spot under the window is the area that I cleaned off! The house has another color under there!

Our not so tidy living room with fireplace.  The high ceilings is what first got us interested in this house.

Original 1927 cabinets!

Bye bye cabinets and hello high ceilings!  The renovation has begun!

And so it begins again....

Yup! You guessed it. Starting at the end of January, Jack will have to share the blog (and everything else in life).

Trish is 10 weeks into making the second baby, although if you ask her she's 12 weeks. We'll keep you all posted on our progress!

The New "Jack-pack"

Jack is getting big. And heavy... Too heavy for mommy to lug around on a hike so we went over to REI (during a sale and with a coupon) to buy a "Jack-pack." Once we go our new hiking pack, we went right out and hit the trails!

Pack has been prepped and is ready for use! Jack... not so much.

The pack is a success!

The tired, allergy stricken group complete their family hike and get ready to head home.

Seattle Center Fun (May 10th)

On a semi-nice Seattle afternoon, Trish, Jack and I met up with the Queen Anne Crew for a lunchtime picnic at the Seattle Center.  We had lunch and the kids played in the water fountain.

Jack gets to see the Space Needle

Lindsey clearly having an excellent time.

Lexi and Phoebe enjoy the fountain.

Group Photo!

Liam's wet robot impression

Jack showing off his, umm...  smile?

Sophie showing Jack how to smile properly.

The fountain at Seattle Center will shoot water to different musical scores.  On this day...  I think we got classic music.  Jack, as you can see, was really impressed.

Oooohhhhh...  water.........  shiny metal.........   oooooohhhhh.......   (Internal Jack thoughts)

Momma is always able to Jack her little man to enjoy himself.
